Miles Davis

Thanks to Eric’s introduction of Miles Davis.

His interesting personality brought on my curiosity to find out more about Davis’s musical world. I would like to know why he is widely considered as one of most influential musicians of the 20th century. He almost never looked back to play the kind music that he had played before except in the last several months before he died. At that time he recorded several tunes that he played in the 50s. His name and his performances have always appeared in every major development in jazz from World War II to the 1990s.

My husband introduced me to some great interview video clips from YouTube for getting more knowledge about Davis’s musical language.
